Shri Venkateshwara University hosted a national seminar on the occasion of World No Tobacco day.
Shri Venkateshwara University, along with Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) and VGI Meerut, hosted a national seminar on World No Tobacco day.
The seminar dwelled upon awakening the masses & specially the youth
about the ill effects of smoking and tobacco use. Over a dozen renowned Doctors
apprised about the adverse effects of smoking and tobacco use & how it’s a
silent killer.
We carried out an awareness rally to ban smoking and to prohibit it in the
country.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi, Chief
Advisor Dr VPS Arora, Dean Academics Dr Sanjeev Bhatt, & Dr Atul Verma
inaugurated the seminar by lighting a lamp to goddess Saraswati.
Dr Seema Gupta, & Anubhav Bhatnagar assisted them in inaugurating the
seminar & awareness rally.
The Group Chairman, Dr Sudhir Giri, announced that the faculty &
students of Gajraula & Meerut Campuses will awaken people about the
terrible effects of smoking.
Dr Rajiv Tyagi, the Pro Chancellor of SVU, announced they will
promote the message of No to Smoking Yes to Life & will urge the Government
to ban tobacco nationwide.
Dr Sanjeev Bhatt, a well-known microbiologist, underlined that tobacco use
causes over 70 lakh deaths worldwide every year, demonstrating the gravity of
the situation. Of these Pulmonary Cancer kills over 40 lakh people.
After this, we conducted an awareness rally to ban smoking & Tobacco
use.

Verma, Dr Seema Gupta Dr Anubhav Bhatnagar, Dr Monika Tyagi & the MS Br I B
Raju also address the national seminar banning smoking & tobacco use.
Those present included Dr Abhay Bhatnagar, Dr Shivam, Dr Neha, Dr Shahid
Mir, Dr Monika, Dr Prachi Tyagi, Dr Ikram Elahi, SS Baghel, Arun Goswami &
the Media In charge Mr Vishwas Rana among others.
